Quiz at The Queens

Cheltenham Sparks Rotary Club held a Quiz Night at The Queens Hotel on September 10th 2010.

The quiz was the club's first fund raising event and was held in aid of the newly formed Springbank Cub Scout group and other Rotary charities. The quiz was themed around the school curriculum with rounds including geography, science, English literature, history, PE, music and general studies.

The first prize of afternoon tea at The Daffodil was won by "Forest Grump". "The Professionals" and the "Legal Seagulls" came in second and third respectively. However these weren't the only winners as many others went away with one of the raffle prizes. Cheltenham Sparks Rotary Club would like to thank all the businesses and individuals who supplied prizes for either the quiz or raffle.

The grand total raised on the evening was £1266.22. This money will go towards the purchase of equipment for the Springbank Cubs and we also hope to purchase two aquaboxes, which will provide clean, safe water after natural disasters such as the recent flooding in Pakistan.
